Your application package should include the following items

1. A completed application package

  • Each programme has its own application form. Please find your application form on the webpage of the relevant programme.

         Applied Economics (BSc)

         Econimic Analysis (MSc)

         Public Policy and Management (MSc)
      

2. An authenticated and diplomatically verified/Apostilled copy of your degree

THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENT HAS TO BE PRESENTED AT THE ENROLMENT

  • if you apply for the BSc programme, we need a copy of your high-school degree
  • if you apply for a Master programme, we need a copy of your BA/BSc degree

3. An official transcript on your studies

  • if you apply for the BSc programme, we need a transcript of your high-school studies
  • if you apply for the Master programme, we need a transcript of your BA/BSc studies

4. CV

5. Motivation letter

6. A copy of your passport

7. A copy of receipt proving payment of application fee

8. English certificate for BSc Applied Economics applicants only

Please note that it is not required that you include any English-language exam certificate in your application package as the English-language skills of applicants are measured in the frame of the entrance exam.

The application fee for all programmes is 110 EUR.

How to pay the application fee?

The entrance exam for the BSc in Applied Economics programme

As an entrance exam to the Bachelor of Applied Economics Programme applicants are expected to take a quiz in mathematics.

The exam is to be sent via e-mail and you will have to submit the solution to the entrance exam within a given period of time.

For preparation  the following book is recommended:

Precalculus by J. Stewart, L. Redlin and S. Watson, Publ: Thomson Learning

In addition to the written exam, there will also be a short online interview. This is simply a short conversation between the applicant and a faculty member and it does not require any additional preparation.

PLEASE NOTE: THE INTERVIEW IS ALSO PART OF THE ENTRANCE EXAM, ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE PASSED THE MATHEMATHICS EXAM WILL BE INVITED TO THE INTERVIEW. THE FINAL DECISION IS BASED ON BOTH PARTS OF THE ENTRANCE EXAM.

The entrance exam for the MSc in Economic Analysis programme

A telephone or Skype interview

The purpose of the interview is to assess applicants’ basic command of base subjects and disciplines of the programme and their verbal competences, as well as to learn about their motivation for joining a program. Interviews are evaluated, among others, on the basis of how successful applicants are in communicating their ideas, what career plans they have in mind or how they think they can benefit from the Master’s program in order to meet their future goals.

The entrance exam for the MSc in Public Policy and Management programme

1. Concept paper

The applicant will receive a short article and a few tasks that need to be complited within 24 hours. This is a written assignment. Only those are invited to the interview who successfully complete the concept paper.

2. A telephone or Skype interview

The purpose of the interview is to assess applicants’ basic command of base subjects and disciplines of the programme (such as economic and statistical foundations of public policy and administration, policy studies) and their verbal competences, as well as to learn about their motivation for joining a program. Interviews are evaluated, among others, on the basis of how successful applicants are in communicating their ideas, what career plans they have in mind or how they think they can benefit from the Master’s program in order to meet their future goals.

Application deadlines

For the programmes with a start in fall: April 15.

If you wish and you are eligible to apply for the scholarship of the Visegrad Fund, please send us your application package by January 15 so that we can issue the conditional Letter of Acceptance for you.

If you wish and you are eligible to apply for the scholarship of the World Bank, please send us you application package by March 15 so that we can issue the conditional Letter of Acceptance for you.

Notification of the results

You are notified of the results of the entrance exam and the entire application procedure (accepted or declined) via E-mail after the final evaluations are made by the entrance exam board.

Successful candidates receive their acceptance letters shortly after the announcement of the results in order to start the VISA application procedure in time.
